This study was conducted from April to December 2022 with the aim of evaluating the bio-efficacy and perceived side effects of the Kibamid 7.5RB product. This commercial insecticide formulation, manufactured by the Institute of Ecology and Works Protection, was tested against field populations of the tropical fire ant Solenopsis geminata. Kibamid 7.5RB ant bait is a dark yellow powder bait formulation, packaged in tin pouches with a net weight of 10 grams per packet. The bait consisted of two main components: ant attractants and Sulfluramid (0,75% w/w) a slow-acting toxic substance. The evaluation of Kibamid 7.5RB in powder bait formulations was conducted against field populations of the tropical fire ant Solenopsis geminata, following the guidelines of ENV-JM-MONO (2013)16[3]. The results showed that the Sulfluramid baits killed all worker ants after 4-5 days, and no side effects were observed in people who were directly involved in testing this product.
