The susceptibility study was conducted in August 2023 at Quyet Chien commune, Tan Lac district, Hoa Binh province. Impregnated paper with permethrin 0,75% and stock solutions of permethrin (21.5 µg per bottle) were used following WHO protocol. The results revealed that a total of 713 individuals of Anopheles mosquitoes belonging to 9 species were collected from the cattle sheds. The main vector An. minimus was sampled with high density 1.99 individuals/person/hour, followed by An. sinensis with the density of 1.78 individuals/person/hour. For both WHO tube test and WHO bottle bioassay methods, An. minimus was susceptible to permethrin with a mortality rate after 24h maintenance of 100%. An. sinensis displayed resistance to permethrin using both WHO tube test and WHO bottle bioassay with the motality was 66% ± 2.31% (Mean ± SD) and 65% ± 3.83% (Mean ± SD) respectively. WHO bottle bioassay should be widely applied to assess the susceptibility of mosquitoes to insecticide in Viet nam.
